You might be wondering why you would need our listening products. Here is the answer:

The listening part of the exam can be worth up to 45% of your exam and is therefore key to getting those extra marks.

The practice which you do in class or at home from your books helps you develop your vocabulary and reinforces the topic being covered.

The day of the exam, topics are randomly chosen and you need to put all your knowledge in action. Our listening products allow you to really test yourself as if you were sitting the exam. We have made the audio files in the same format of your exam, we supply the questions again following the format of your exam. So you can sit at your desk at home and do the listening like in the exam. Once you have finished the listening part, use the marking scheme and answers to see how you did and finally use the transcript of what you have heard to check on vocabulary or structures you did not know. Take note of new vocabulary and try and reuse it regularly so you become familiar with it.

Each listening practice (except for Leaving certificate Irish) contains 4 audio files so you could do one file a week so you concentrate one part /section every month. You will see improvements quickly and by the time the exam comes you will have the perfect technique.
In Irish, each audio file is offered in two dialects so you can get used to the southern and northern dialects. Again, you will have the audio file, the questions, the marking scheme, answers and transcript.

While examining and preparing students, I was always surprised that students would spend so much time preparing their answers but never spent time on questions.
I have come across students who had potential to score highly but lost valuable marks because they could not understand the questions. They had read the questions many times but when they heard the questions, to them it sounded different. With our oral preparation packs, we give you the opportunity to access over 200 questions in written and audio formats. You can listen to each question to make sure you understand, rehearse a reply and so on. In case you do not understand a question we have provided you with a translation of each question.
